Tomatoes and strawberries, together? Another first with Dorie! She pairs the two with fresh mozzarella and basil to put a tasty spin on the classic caprese salad. The results are yummy. The key is to use the freshest and ripest tomatoes and strawberries. I used burrata (the outside shell is mozzarella and the inside is a mixture of mozzarella and cream) and a touch of balsamic vinegar. It looked like a dessert. My daughter and I loved it. I've had it for lunch two days in a row! The salad is really good and easy.

I'm impressed how you were able to slice your basil into the neat and tiny shreds. I gave up after doing them in fourths. Great post!

The burrata looks wonderful - I really must try it the next time I make it.

The burrata looks so decadent! Omit the tomatoes and you really could serve this for dessert!
